According to an announcement by The Verge, it is expected that the much-awaited Gears 6 will be unveiled on June 9th. This revelation is supposed to take place during an Xbox event that coincides with the Summer Games Fest, as well as the week previously known as E3. The Verge has highlighted that the showcase will not only introduce a new addition to the Gears Of War series but will also declare release dates for several anticipated titles, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Avowed, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, and the latest Call Of Duty installment.
It has been a significant wait of five years since the launch of Gears 5. In the interim, The Coalition, the developers behind the series, have also worked on the turn-based offshoot Gears Tactics and contributed to the development of Halo Infinite, another major title under the Microsoft banner. Speculation last year hinted at the possibility of The Coalition putting a halt on two unannounced projects to prioritize the development of the next installment in the Gears Of War franchise.
Despite the series experiencing a perceived decline in its appeal after the original creators, Epic, moving on, Gears 5 was met with favorable reviews. In his evaluation, Matthew from RPS spoke highly of the game. He appreciated the innovative inclusion of RPG elements, the game’s visually stunning execution, and the ingenious design of the action sequences, highlighting the ongoing potential in the series to deliver engaging and fresh gameplay experiences.
