Nintendo outlines a straightforward yet effective plan to prevent scalpers from exploiting the Switch 2 market. In order to elude the tumult caused by scalpers who bought and resold the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X at inflated rates during their launch, Nintendo is devising a hopeful game plan.
During a Q&A session with the company's investors, a question arose about how Nintendo plans to counteract scalpers. In response, Nintendo head Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed details previously reported, emphasizing that the company will ensure a sufficient supply of Switch 2 units. This approach makes it undeniably more challenging for scalpers to resell consoles at inflated prices when consumers can purchase them directly from stores at regular prices with better warranty options.
Nintendo will also evaluate additional measures to combat scalpers, considering the different regional rules and needs. While manufacturing a large number of consoles and having them readily available is an expensive strategy that might necessitate a slight delay in the console's launch, many people, including us, appreciate this approach and hope it proves successful.
