Electronic Arts, one of the largest publishers of video games, has announced plans to expand its business into the realm of movies and television.
The company has set up a new division, EA Studios, which will be responsible for developing and producing film and TV projects based on EA's catalog of popular video game franchises.
It's been a big year for Electronic Arts, and they're showing no signs of slowing down. In their quarterly report, they announced their plans for the next six months, and it looks like there's a lot to be excited about.
In December, we can look forward to Need for Speed: Unbound, and then from January to March, five more games will be released: Dead Space Remake, PGA Tour, Super Mega Baseball, and Wild Hearts.
But that's not all – their sixth release, which is currently being referred to as a "Major IP", will also be released before the end of the year. We don't know too much about it yet, but it's speculated that it might be Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. If that's the case, then we can expect to learn more about the game at The Game Awards on December 8th.
As for the free mobile game The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, its release has been postponed indefinitely.
