As Ubisoft gears up for the imminent launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows, an exciting collaboration has taken place with the Spanish National Heritage agency. On March 5th, the Royal Collections Gallery in Madrid hosted an event to unveil the recovery of a kabuto helmet from Japan's feudal era. Notable figures, including Mr. Shinji Minami, the Japanese Embassy in Spain, along with Ms. Hiroko Ikeda, who serves as a Special Advisor for Culture, attended the presentation.
The kabuto, a traditional Japanese war helmet, suffered damage during a fire at the Royal Armoury in Madrid back in 1884. This remarkable artifact was originally brought to Spain in 1584 and belongs to one of the most significant collections of Japanese armor in Europe. Spanish company Factum Arte has meticulously reconstructed the helmet, and visitors can view the replica at the Royal Collections Gallery until April 6th.
To enhance the experience surrounding the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows on March 20th, Ubisoft has integrated this historical kabuto into the game's Codex. Players will have the opportunity to learn about the Azuchi-Momoyama period and 16th-century Japan. Such initiatives highlight Ubisoft's dedication to ensuring historical accuracy within its gaming narratives.
