Warhammer 40,000 Update
The planned public beta session for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been canceled by developer Saber Interactive.
In an official Steam post, the studio revealed that the decision aims to concentrate resources on getting the game polished for its launch in September this year. Space Marine 2 is nearing completion, focusing entirely on optimization, polishing, and fixing remaining issues ahead of the launch on September 9. Due to these priorities, the team has decided against running a public online beta to ensure the best possible experience at release.
To offer a small consolation to those who had already signed up for the beta, players registering before June 28, 2024, will receive a limited Bolt Pistol skin.
Recently, Saber Interactive published an official gameplay reveal video showcasing a variety of weapons, an impressive display of the Warhammer 40K aesthetic, and an in-depth look at the game's modes. This has significantly increased anticipation for the game's release.
However, reactions to the public beta decision have been mixed. Some fans believe the developers are concentrating on making the game launch in its best state, while others are concerned that this might indicate underlying issues with the game's current state.
Despite the public beta's absence from the development plans, we can only eagerly anticipate the game's launch on September 9, 2024, across platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
